Cookie Policy
Effective date:April 8, 2026
This policy explains how the Forge web application uses cookies and similar technologies. This policy applies only to the web version of Forge — the mobile app does not use browser cookies.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. They enable the website to remember your actions and preferences.
2. Cookies We Use
All cookies used by Forge arestrictly necessaryfor the service to function. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
forge_token |

csrf_token |
Security — prevents cross-site request forgery attacks | Strictly necessary | Session |
forge_oauth_state |
Security — protects OAuth login flow from interception | Strictly necessary | 10 minutes |
forge_oauth_next |

3. Local Storage
In addition to cookies, we use browser local storage for:
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
forge-theme |
Remembers your selected visual theme (dark/light/system) | Until cleared |
forge_tz |
Device timezone (IANA) for server-side date/time formatting | 1 year |
4. Third-Party Cookies
We do not use any third-party cookies. No advertising networks, analytics services, or social media trackers place cookies through our website.
5. Service Worker Cache
Forge uses a service worker for PWA (Progressive Web App) functionality. This caches static assets (CSS, JavaScript, icons) locally on your device for faster loading. This is not a cookie and does not track your behavior. You can clear this cache by unregistering the service worker in your browser's developer tools or by clearing site data.
6. Legal Basis
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC, as amended by 2009/136/EC), strictly necessary cookies do not require user consent because they are essential for the service you have requested. All cookies used by Forge fall into this category.
We therefore do not display a cookie consent banner, as it would serve no meaningful purpose — there are no optional cookies to accept or reject.
7. Managing Cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings:
- View, delete, or block cookies for specific websites
- Set your browser to notify you when cookies are being set
- Configure automatic cookie deletion when you close your browser
Note:Deleting theforge_tokencookie will log you out. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent Forge from functioning.
8. Changes
If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future (e.g., analytics), we will update this policy and implement a consent mechanism before deploying them.
9. Contact
